INX Istanbul New Castle Exchange

Monday_9th Nov_3-10pm
Tuesday_10th Nov_3pm-late
(Including discussion event and after-show party)

A unique event celebrating diversity and commonality, based around a cultural exchange between five North East based and five visiting Turkish artists:
Alper Akçay, Deniz Aygün, CLAIRE, David Foggo, Paul Grimmer, Genco Gülan, Insel Inal, Funda Karakus, Carole Luby and Sally Madge.

INX will present exciting, newly developed performance and installation works that investigate boundaries and thresholds, power and balance, difference and equality, manipulation and the truth.

Kicking of on Monday 9th November at 3pm and continuing over two days the Star and Shadow will house a variety of performances and interventions to encourage curiosity and debate.

On Tuesday 10th at 6.30pm (after the day’s performances) there will be an open and informal discussion giving both artists and audience an opportunity to respond to the work and reflect on their experiences, challenges and achievements of working across borders.

Then from 8pm we launch into the post-performance party...a creative fusion of east meets west...with live music from Kid Kirby, Humble Toad, and DJs Hayley Hare and David Butler, visuals from Toby Lloyd, dancing from Radio Controlled Kittens, food, bar and more surprises to come!

INX is part of an ongoing series of international exchanges organised by independent art space, 25 Stratford Grove www.25stratfordgrove.wordpress.com

"CONSTRUCT A CITY YOURSELF"
Performans by Insel Inal
INX

In this performance the artist expresses the relationship of the city and slums by playing with the reality of the city. How the overlooked suburbs compete with reality is communicated with the audience through an interaction.
