We'll be glad you and your students to participate in the festival. "Marx 2.0" Sergi

amber’15 Sanat ve Teknoloji Festivali kapsamında gerçekleşecek MARX 2.0 sergisi, 6-15 Kasım 2015 tarihleri arasında Adahan İstanbul'da.

"ÇALIŞIYORUM ÖYLEYSE VARIM-LABORO ERGO SUM" temalı amber'15 ise, sanatla yeni teknolojilerin kesişiminde sergilere, atölye çalışmalarına, film gösterimlerine ve panellere yer veriyor.

MARX 2.0, an exhibition organized as part of the amber'15 Art and Technology Festival, will be on view through November 6-15, 2015 at Adahan Istanbul. With the "I WORK THEREFORE I AM - LABORO ERGO SUM" theme, amber'15 will include exhibitions, research workshops, film screenings and panels at the junction of art and new technologies.

MARX 2.0
DİJİTAL ÇAĞDA EMEK SÖMÜRÜSÜ

Uzunca bir süredir maddi üretimin toplumsal yaşamın temelinde olduğu düşüncesi aşındırılarak, yerine bilgi üretiminin önemi vurgulanmaktadır. Bilgi üretimini ellerinde bulunduranların ise bu sistemi yönlendireceği tezi sıklıkla dile getirilmektedir. Fakat bu bir örtüdür; prekarya üzerine yapilan çalışmalarda gördüğümüz gibi, sömürü sistemlerini örten, gizleyen bir örtü.

Çağımızda, akıllı telefonlar, tabletler ve phabletlerle interneti aktif bir biçimde kullanma pratiğiyse, bilgi tüketimi ve dijital tüketimin başka bir yönünü oluşturmaktadır. Bugüne kadar sadece piyasa odaklı tüketim yönelimlerine dair çalışmaların gösterdiği yapının dışında, bu alana karşı eleştirel ve politik bir tutum almak ise poetika’ya da düşüyor gibi görünüyor. Zira sanatta prekarya tartışmasını da uzunca bir zamandır yaşamakta ve tartışmaktayız. Böylece eleştirel, politik ve sanatsal bir duruş, bu bakış açısında inşa edilebilir.

Elimizde bulunan tabletlerin, telefonların ve makinelerin üretiminde, madenlerin, donanım imalatının, yazılımlar ve hizmetler gibi alanların görmezden gelinmesi de bu sürecin en basit örneğidir.“Innovasyon” dediğimiz sürece başlangıç eden ise tüm bu emek biçimleridir. Bu arka planın görmezden gelinmesi de dikkat çekici değil mi?

Böylece “dijital emek” terimini, dijital medyanın var olması, üretilmesi, yayılması ve kullanılması için gereken, karşılığı ödenen ve ödenmeyen tüm emek biçimlerini içerecek şekilde genişletmeyi öneriyoruz. Sınıflar aşınıyor tezine, sınıfların hiç olmadığı kadar belirgin olduğunu göstererek ve bu acidan bakılmasını önererek.

EXPLOITATION OF LABOR IN THE DIGITAL AGE

For quite some time, the idea that material production is 'the basis of social life' is being eroded and the essence of information production is emphasized. It is very frequently stated that those in possession of such information generation would be guiding the aforesaid system. However, this is a cover; as we have seen in precariat studies, a cover that is concealing and hiding the systems of exploitation.

At present, the practice of using smart phones, tablets and phablets as well as the internet in an active manner constitutes yet another aspect of consuming information and digital consumption. Further to the structure that has been pointed out solely by studies concerning market-oriented consumption tendencies up to the present day, assuming a critical and political attitude towards this domain seems to pertain not only to politics but to poetica as well, because we have been experiencing and discussing for quite some time the argumentation regarding precariat in art. There by, a critical, political and artistic stance could be constructed under this perspective.

The simplest examples of this process consist of neglecting such fields like mining, hardware manufacturing, software and services provision in the production of the tablets, phones and machinery we hold. It is all of the aforementioned patterns of labor that initiate the process we refer to as “innovation”. Is it not worth considering that this background is disregarded and neglected?

We are hereby proposing the extension of the phrase “digital labor” so as to include any and all kinds of labor patterns required for existence, diffusion and utilization of digital media, remunerated for or otherwise. Demonstrating against the thesis of eroding classes, that such classes are more explicit than ever, and suggesting a perspective from this standpoint.
